At the end of 2006, I managed to injure my back by doing something as simple as kicking a soccer ball the wrong way. In the following month it started to get worse, with a lot of discomfort felt in the lower back region. I went to our local Chiropractor, a family doctor who had been seeing my family for years. 3 months later, hundreds of dollars poorer and somewhat desperate, I could barely walk. I was seeing my chiropractor 3 times a week as well as being sent for a variety of scans and x-rays. At this point my back pain was so bad I could barely walk. I was taking days off work because I couldn't drive, missed social events and certainly couldn't exercise. I was told that I had an inflamed disc and unfortunately nothing could be done. I would have this injury (and pain) for the rest of my life, and the only thing I could do was rest as much as possible.

I was devastated. At the age of 24, I had to come to terms with the fact that I couldn't do all the things that I used to do. My chiropractor told me that he couldn't help me anymore as well, so I was lost. Demoralised and depressed I dealt with the news. However, one day about a year later, I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't move. I was literally frozen and the slightest movement caused sharp pains in my back and body. With no other choice but to try another specialist, my husband found The Osteopathic Centre in Hornsby.

The staff at The Osteopathic Centre were friendly and accommodating and slipped us in that day. On my first visit, I was sceptical. The last thing I wanted was for my back to get worse again. As soon as I walked in, my fears were relieved. I saw Dr Deepak Yagnik, who carefully examined my back. He asked a lot of logical questions which I'd never been asked before and explained clearly (and in laymen's terms), what was causing my back pain. I remember my first question was "Can you fix it?". All hope was restored when Dr responded with a confident "Yes". Not only was it a positive response, he proceeded to tell me exactly what he would need to do to fix my back.

Since, I have seen Deepak 3 times, a fraction of the visits I made to my Chiropractor. I can walk without any pain, I can sit in my chair at work all day, I can go out and play sport anytime without having to dread the next day. I'm so grateful that I made that first appointment. Without visiting The Osteopathic Centre, I wouldn't have believed the tremendous physical benefits that could be gained. When I hear someone mention back pain I give them The Osteopathic Centre's number and do so with 100% confidence that the Doctors there will be able to help.
